JSC "Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant" is located on the shore of Lake Onega in Petrozavodsk - the capital of the Republic of Karelia. The enterprise is located at the intersection of the main waterways of Russia connecting the Baltic, White, Caspian, Azov and Black Seas.

The shipyard of CJSC "Onega Shipbuilding Plant" was established on 01.08.2002 on the basis of ship repair and shipbuilding capacities of the Belomorsko-Onega Shipping Company.

The full cycle of work on the construction of ships at the enterprise began to be carried out since 2003.

In the period 2005-2010 the plant built:

  • 12 river-sea vessels with a deadweight of 5400 tons (project 005RSD03);

  • 6 dry cargo ships with a deadweight of 4,500 tons (DCV-Z project).

The plant's mission: to guarantee the quality and competitiveness of ships under construction

At the initiative of the State Commission on Preparation for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Karelia, headed by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation N.P. Patrushev, the Government of the Russian Federation at the end of 2014 decided to resume production stopped two years earlier. Based on the capacities of the Onega Plant, FSUE Rosmorport is implementing a project to develop its own shipbuilding and ship repair enterprise.

On June 06, 2015, the grand opening of the plant took place with the participation of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation N.P. Patrushev, the Head of the Republic of Karelia and the leadership of FSUE Rosmorport.

The mission of the plant:

  • guarantee of quality and competitiveness of ships under construction;
  • ensuring the safety of navigation in ports and on raids;
  • maintaining and expanding jobs; increasing wages and labor productivity.
