History

The enterprise is located at the intersection of the main waterways of Russia connecting the Baltic, White, Caspian, Azov and Black Seas.

The plant was founded in 2002 in Petrozavodsk on the basis of the modernized ship repair facilities of the Belomorsko-Onega Shipping Company, established in 1944.

1944–1992 years

Fleet repair and ship construction

The repair and maintenance base of the Belomorsko-Onega Shipping Company carried out fleet repairs and construction of tugs and non-self-propelled vessels.

1992–1997 years

German project and internship in Germany

A series of dry cargo ships with a deadweight of 2,300 tons was built according to the German project. The staff has been trained and interned in Germany.

1998–2002 years

Modernization of 8 vessels

Eight river vessels of the Volga type have been modernized, with their subsequent transfer to the RMRS class to work on the transportation of foreign trade cargo.

2003 year

Full cycle of ship construction works

The plant has started to carry out a full cycle of work on the construction of ships.

2015 year

Acquisition of a shipyard

The shipyard was acquired by Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant LLC.

2019 year

Reorganization into a joint stock company

07.03.2019 Limited Liability Company «Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant» reorganized in the form of transformation into a Joint Stock Company «Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant»
