Open Day at the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant

On April 16, more than sixty 9th grade students of Karelian schools visited Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant as part of the Unified Open Day of the Federal Project of the "Professional". The students were given the opportunity to participate in professional trials and learn about the benefits of studying under the new program.

"Professionals" is a unique program implemented by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. The terms of training under this program are reduced due to practice-orientation, so that students will receive a sought-after profession, practical experience in production and a guarantee of employment in a short time.
At the enterprise, ninth-graders and representatives of the Petrozavodsk Motor Transport College were met by the heads of the design and technology department, hull production, personnel and vocational training department. Specialists told the guys about the modernization of the enterprise and the ships under construction.

During the campaign, two master classes – «Fitting room of professions took place. Shipbuilding Engineer » and «Shipbuilding. Quality control and measurement". Under the guidance of Ruslan Pronkin, Deputy head of the Design and Technology Department, schoolchildren were able to work with a 3D model of the vessel, the master of hull production, Alexander Kozyrin, taught those who wanted to make measurements with their own hands, necessary for the manufacture of parts of the crabber under construction.

The head of the personnel Department Svetlana Lysakova spoke about the most popular specialties in production, prospects for professional growth and social guarantees.
