The scow is equipped with a bottom opening system of the hull. The main engines are located in the aft part of the vessel in protective casings, which allow for prompt maintenance and aggregate replacement of mechanisms. The screw-steering columns are placed outside the hull and have the ability to adjust the deepening of the screw and the lifting of the screws out of the water for maintenance and repair afloat without docking the vessel.
The vessels of this project are designed to operate in the basins of the Black, Caspian and Baltic Seas.
During the construction of the scow «Strong» for the first time in Russia, a valve diesel generator unit (DG) was used on the ship, which made it possible to abandon the use of a parking diesel generator. In addition, the operation of a valve engine with a variable speed allows you to significantly (up to 25%) increase efficiency and save the resource of drive motors when operating at a shared load.
