On December 3, the sixth crab of the 5712 LS design series was laid at the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant, which the plant is building by order of the Far Eastern crab fishing company "Russian Crab".
The series will include seven vessels for the extraction and transportation of live crab. The construction is carried out within the framework of the investment quota program. The technical equipment of the crabbers of the 5712 LS project will double the volume of live products transported, increase its safety indicators, and improve the seaworthiness of vessels necessary to work in difficult weather conditions in the basins of the Okhotsk and Bering Seas.
The main technical characteristics of the project 5712 LS crab catcher: length 57.70 m, width 12.60 m, autonomy 40 days, full speed 12.6 knots, live crab capacity 110-120 tons.
